Hi Leigh,

I think it would be useful. It’s great orientation for newcomers, and a handy reference for the others.

Hi all,

Taking an informal poll here. Better late than never (I guess) but I'm considering updating DITA For Print for OT 3.x, as there have been some substantial changes, especially to the build process. It's a considerable effort, though, so I'd like to see if there is actually any demand. Chime in and let me know if you'd find it useful...or not.

Thanks!

As you say there are substantial changes for 3.x, a book from you will be definitely very helpful for dita learners.

Hi Michael,

As suggested, i tried <ph> and <keyword>. I tried several approach given below. 1st and 2nd approach is not making any difference in resolving my issue. But with 3rd and 4th approach, even keyref in title in not working and same is also not rendering in toc. End result is same as initial issue.

1st Approach:
<title class="- topic/title ">History and <keyword keyref="conclusion_1"/> of story</title>

2nd Approach:
<title class="- topic/title ">History and <keyword keyref="conclusion_1"></keyword> of story</title>

3rd Approach:
<title class="- topic/title ">History and <ph keyref="conclusion_1"></ph> of story</title>

4th Approach:
<title class="- topic/title ">History and <ph keyref="conclusion_1"/> of story</title>

Thanks,

[ann][webinar] Working with DITA in Oxygen - Customizing the Editing Experience (April 14) #Oxygen

alin_belu@...

Hello,

Our weekly live event series continues next Wednesday (April 14) with the “Working with DITA in Oxygen - Customizing the Editing Experience” webinar!

Under the guidance of Sorin Carbunaru (software developer at Syncro Soft), you will explore several ways of customizing the DITA editing experience according to your desires. This webinar will cover the customization of:
* Author actions - edit existing actions, remove actions or add new ones. Add actions to the main toolbar, the contextual menu, or the content completion window.
* The Author-mode rendering - tailor the visuals of the editing experience using CSS and add in-place actions directly in the Author page.
* Document validation - create new validation rules and provide quick fixes using Schematron.
* The content-completion assistant - automatically insert or reject elements, attributes, and values.
* New document templates - add prefixes or suffixes to the names of your new documents, customize the template icons, mark templates as popular.

This is a free event and you can register at http://www.oxygenxml.com/evs2021-6.html

Make sure to check the full list of our upcoming events: https://www.oxygenxml.com/events_programme.html

Best regards,
Alin

Re: Group reltable Links by Topic Type #reltable

Radu Pisoi

Hi,

We have a project on GitHub where we contribute publishing templates samples based on the user requests.
Some of them includes XSLT extension points and can be used as starting points:
* Generation Date & Time - template containing XSLT extensions that add the generation date & time to the WebHelp Responsive footer.
* Bookmap Copyright Info - template containing XSLT extensions that can transfer meta information specified in the DITA map to the WebHelp Responsive footer.
* Logo Before Search Template - this is a sample publishing template that displays the Logo component before the search input. It uses an XSLT Extension File to customize the structure of the search component.
* Change Viewport Meta - this is a sample publishing template that uses an XSLT Extension File to customize the value of the viewport <meta>.

Also, please see the Developer Reference section from the WebHelp Responsive user guide. This section is designed for developers to provide advanced information about the Oxygen XML WebHelp Responsive plugin. The information in this section will help you to extend or customize the output and provide an overview of the plugin architecture.

Good morning Radu (and everyone else, of course),

after researching the topic all morning I still don’t have the first clue how to implement your suggestion. Would you mind giving me some hints or pointing me to a resource for dummies that explains how one would go about overriding templates using XSLT extension points?
Thank you kindly.

Try using <ph> or <keyword> instead of <term>.

<term> element with @keyref attribute inserted within topic title, not visible in <toc> #XSLT

Shaurabh

I have a requirement where I need to include few @keyrefs for terms within <toc> for which i have added <title class="- topic/title ">History and <term keyref="conclusion_1"/> of story</title> in topic title. This <term> element along with keyref is visible in output file in topic title. But same is not rendered in Table of Content section. Please see below example for reference. Please suggest any solution or workaround for this issue. I am using DITA-OT 3.5.4 version.
Thanks in advance.

Topic title in output file:(word in Italics is @keyref for term)

1.1 History and conclusion of story

Table of Content in output file:(term with keyref is not visible in table of content)

Contents
1 About this document . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .2

Adding a parameter to an extension in the DITA-OT preprocessing

Pierre Attar

Hi all,

I've created an extension to the DITA-OT topicpull process.

The extension is something like

 <feature extension="ant.import" file="lr-solve.xml"/>
<feature extension="depend.preprocess.topicpull.pre" value="lr-solve" />

Of course, lr-solve.xml is an ant file containing the needed target.

This works in 3.6 using the xhtml5 transtype.

Unfortunately it does not works withe pdf2 transtype because it uses the preprocess2 mechanism and I don't knows how to name the feature extension.

Nevertheless, tu this lr-solve process, I need to add a parameter for this transformation. Unfortunately, I only know how to add a parameter to a new or exiting transtype. I search in the DITA-OT documentation and did not found any documentation to add parameter to the preprocess.

So, my two questions :

- how to add a feature extension to the preprocess2 process ?

- how to add a parameter to an extension called both by the preprocess ans the preprocess2 processes ?

Thanks for sharing ideas, Pierre

Re: Override Topic title with @navtitle #XSLT

Even though Toshihiko mentioned that it seems a known bug, i thought of giving them a try. I tried few other approaches as well using XSLT, but no success. As already mentioned by Ajay, we are using DITA-OT 3.5.4 version. Please let me know if there is any other work around to achieve above mentioned scenario.

Thanks

So, embace the future; with DITA 2.0, @alt, @navtitle, and @locktitle are all removed. <grin/>

Shaurabh, what processor are you using? If you are using the DITA-OT, what version?

topicmeta/navtitle is overridden by topic/title even if @locktitle="yes" #3708
