@cid is used by RWS/SDL Tridion Docs as part of their nonstandard functionality.
If you're processing this content inside a Tridion Docs system, make sure the DTDs from Tridion Docs are seen

One big challenge with having OT record all the source-to-deliverable mapping is that the final-form generation stage may not have all the information it needs to be able to write the mapping.

Use <alt> not @alt on <image>. @alt (and all other content-holding attributes like @navtitle and @title) are removed completely in DITA 2.0.

I'd try and use <image> instead of <uicontrol>, as image has the appropriate alt attribute and the processing is already there to create the alt text in most outputs.
